Burns resulting from exposure to sunlight
 

Sunburn:
It is a painful redness of the skin that occurs within hours of excessive exposure to sunlight. It causes skin burning, redness, pain, swelling and sometimes small fluid-filled blisters.

Symptoms:
  • Pain and redness of the skin.
  • Blisters on the skin
Treatment:
  • Take frequent cold baths to help relieve pain. After bathing, the body should be gently dried, leaving a little water on the skin.
  • Apply a moisturizer to the burned areas of the skin to help lock in water and relieve dryness.
  • A pain reliever can be taken; To help reduce swelling, redness, and pain.
  • Drink enough water to help prevent dehydration.
  • When fluid-filled blisters appear on the affected skin, avoid piercing them; Blisters form to help the skin heal and protect against infection.
  • Take care to protect the sunburned skin during recovery by wearing clothes that cover the skin when going out.
Protection:
  • Avoid going out in the sun as much as possible.
  • Choose shaded places when going out.
  • Use sunscreen in sun-exposed places with a protection factor "A" quarter to half an hour before going outside, and apply it again every two to three hours.
First aid for sunburn:
  • Stay away from the sun.
  • Apply cold compresses to the affected areas.
  • Apply a moisturizing cream to the affected areas.
  • Avoid touching the blisters or piercing them.
