Comprehensive Health Guidance

Comprehensive Health Guidance Initiative - Primary Mental Care Program
Physical and mental health are closely associated with each other; as physical health can only be realized through mental health. Also, chronic diseases, such as: diabetes, hypertension, asthma, etc. can only be controlled by ensuring the non-incidence or after treatment of anxiety or depression to boost mental stability; due to their impact on the elevation of cortisone and adrenaline levels in patient’s body. Hence, successful treatment can only be achieved through providing comprehensive mental health services at primary health centers by their physicians.

The Comprehensive Health Guidance Initiative – the Primary Mental Health Program of the Ministry of Health (MOH) aims to early detect depression and anxiety cases among primary health centers’ outpatients; to alleviate their suffering by providing comprehensive primary mental health services to control chronic diseases, raise the satisfaction of service recipients and providers, in addition to reducing the waste of health resources (e.g. medications, lab tests, or radiology examinations), afforded by healthcare centers; due to focusing on physical treatment without integration with mental treatment in their daily work.
