Private Health Institutions in the Eastern Region Fined Over SR 1,2 Million Last Year
​According to the Eastern Region Health Affairs, over the past year, a number of private health institutions were fined of SR 1.248,000, due to their violation of health regulations. “The Private Health Sector Affairs Department handled 152 cases against health institutions and 30 cases against health practitioners. While the Medical Follow-up Division paid 283 field visits, resulting in the closure of 13 healthcare facilities. 25 cases were referred to the Violation Committee and 72 cases were referred to the Follow-up Committee. Also, the Complexes and Hospitals Division of the Private Health Sector Affairs Department paid 82 inspection visits, during which 16 cases were referred to the Violation Committee and 9 cases to the Follow-up Department,” added the Eastern Region Health Affairs.

It is worth mentioning that MOH closed in 1438H. 890 private health institutions; due to their violation of health regulations. These institutions include 7 hospitals, 508 complexes and 253 other health institutions, in addition to 110 pharmacies.
