MOH Fines a Medication Warehouse in the Eastern Region by SR 110,000
His Excellency the Minster of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, approved the decision of the Committee, assigned to consider the violations of the Saudi private health institutions at Eastern Region Health Affairs General Directorate, to fine the owner of a medication warehouse by SR 110,000; due to violating the Law of Pharmaceutical Institutions and Products.
 
Within the same vein, the decision of the Committee stipulated to fine the owner of the warehouse by SR 50,000, pursuant to Article 37 of the Law of Pharmaceutical Institutions and Products; for the inaccurate adjustment of the storage area at 25 °C, the matter violating Article 4 of the same Law. The decision, also, included a fine of SR 10,000, pursuant to Article 37 of the above mentioned Law; for the absence of a special register to record the temperature inside the refrigerator daily; the matter violating Article 4 of the same Law.
 
In addition, the decision included a fine of SR 10,000; for allocating a separate area for retrieved medicines, and a fine of SR 30,000; for not keeping the medicines under inspection within safe lockers, as well as a fine of SR 10,000; because the floor of the warehouse is cracked and not easy to clean.
 
It is worth mentioning that MOH emphasized that it would take all the statutory procedures, including the cautionary closure, towards any health institution that does not adhere to the required quality standards of health services; in an endeavor to oblige such institutions to improve its stances and address all irregularities, pursuant to the statutory procedures.
