Under the auspices of HE, the Minister of Health, Fahad bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel, the Saudi Society of Emergency Medicine (SASEM) will be holding its 7th scientific conference at the Hilton Hotel in Riyadh, from 12/2/2022 to 16/2/2022.
On this occasion, the president of SASEM, Dr. Jameel Abul-Enain, thanked the Minister of Health for his patronage of the conference, as it is one of the largest, most important scientific events in the field of emergency medicine in KSA. It also represents a bunch of distinct and specialized scientific activities that seek to develop the emergency medicine specialty in the Kingdom.
For her part, Dr. Roula Al-Rabah, the head of the scientific committee of the conference, said that the conference will include 12 workshops taking place from 12-13/2/2022. The workshops involved clinical simulation of injuries and accidents, artificial ventilation, emergency ultrasound, medical training skills, paramedics medical transfer, pediatric resuscitation. A resuscitation workshop was also held for emergency department nurses, in addition to two workshops in basic and advanced ECG interpretation.
The conference starts on 14 February and continues for three days. It will include 30 scientific sessions on the developments of the diagnosis and treatment of emergency diseases, managing and developing the quality of medical services. The sessions will also tackle the subjects of critical medical care, injuries, accidents, using screenings for diagnosis, heart emergencies, toxicology, child emergency, and emergency ambulatory services. The conference will also include panel discussions on the latest updates in emergency medicine research and the utilization of technology in that field, as well as the research posters competition in the specialty of emergency medicine.
Mohammed Al-Helail, the head of the conference, said that all preparations are made at the Hilton Hotel in Riyadh to receive over 1000 health practitioners, in addition to more than 100 international and local speakers from North America and the Persian Gulf. An exhibition is also organized for the sponsors.
Additionally, on the sidelines of the conference this year, a 5-kilometer running race is organized to raise awareness of the importance of defibrillators in public areas. Everyone is invited to participate in this race and learn more about the campaign.
Noteworthy, the conference has been accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, with 23 hours of continued medical education.
