MOH Saves a Nigerian Pilgrim with Heart Attack

​According to the Ministry of Health, the medical team of King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC)-Makkah has saved the life of a Nigerian pilgrim in his thirties, after suffering from severe heart palpitations with a sudden drop in blood pressure (hypotension) that caused a serious and rare case of sudden cardiac arrest. 

After KAMC had received the patient, after his heart stopped beating and was resuscitated with electrical shock (called defibrillation) by ambulance team of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA). After due medical examinations, he was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (AF) and Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) Syndrome, which is one of cardiac arrest causes that may lead to death, May Allah forbid.

The medical team decided to urgently perform an electric catheter, delivering cautery on the site of WPW. This 45-minute surgery has been crowned with success, and the pilgrim could complete his Hajj rituals in good health, all praise is due to Allah.
