MOH: ‘A New Case of Novel Coronavirus Recorded and Another Case Passed Away in Jeddah’

Further to its recent statements on recording a case of coronavirus for a physician working in Jeddah, who is currently being given the supportive medicine, May Allah be praised, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that it keeps on intensifying the epidemiological surveillance of the disease. Therefore, 356 samples of patients and those in contact with them have been examined over the past week, and all of them have been proved negative, May Allah be praised, except three cases working in the health sector, but their health status is stable and they have no symptoms.
 
Within the same vein, the Ministry has announced that a new case of this virus has been recorded in Jeddah. The case is for a 70-year-old male citizen, who had been suffering from some chronic diseases, then he passed away, May Allah have mercy upon him. Besides, other samples have been examined for those in contact with a patient, whose son’s sample has proven positive, but he has no symptoms, May Allah be praised.
 
Furthermore, the Ministry has announced the death of a citizen, working in the health sector; who had been previously announced to be infected with this virus, May Allah have mercy upon him.
 
Finally, the Ministry has highlighted that it keeps on its scientific mechanism of monitoring, following up and intensifying the health awareness, that is to be added to its commitment to the ways of infection control, that are globally adopted in health facilities, in line with the guidelines of the National Committee for Scientific Infectious Diseases and the World Health Organization (WHO).
