MOH's Ehalati Saves 199 Patients Last Week
24 August 2016
Thanks to Allah, the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) Referral Program (Ehalati) has contributed last week to saving the lives of 199 patients, after they had visited emergency sections at a number of the Kingdom’s regions and received specialized medical services by medical teams. Besides, these medical teams provided their specialized medical services to 1,547 emergency cases (at a rate of 25.89%), while the inpatients cases amounted to 1,238 cases (at a rate of 20.72%), and the cases referred to the outpatient clinics amounted to 2,991 (at a rate of 50.6%) of all referred cases.

This comes as a part of the MOH's unstinting support to specialized therapeutic services throughout the regions of the Kingdom. The Program has managed to save 199 patients after providing them with specialized services at reference hospitals, and referred 5,975 other patients over the period from August 14th to 20th, 2016 (corresponding to Dhul-Qi‘dah 11th to 17th 1437H).

Within the same vein, the Ministry stated that the program recorded, through an automated system, 3,842 patients in need of referral to specialized and reference hospitals, then approved them at a rate of 64.3% out of the total referred cases. On the other hand 1,612 progressing cases (at a rate of 27%) are still being considered, while 365 cases (at a rate of 6.1%) received treatment at the same hospital, and 156 cases (at a rate of 2.6%) were placed on the waiting list, to be handled in the coming period depending on their health condition.

It's worth mentioning that ‘Ehalati’ Program is reckoned one of the new MOH's e-programs. Advantages of the program include providing medical counseling among physicians in the various medical facilities to study the health condition of the patients without the need to refer them. It also provides all the logistic and coordination-related requirements to refer the patient from one medical facility to another. In addition, Ehalati provides an accurate archiving and statistical system, which contains information of the referred patients through the program to different health facilities across the Kingdom.
