According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), a medical team at Yanbu General Hospital, Madinah Region, has conducted, today (Wednesday) morning, a successful surgery on a 14-year old girl who was suffering from severe abdominal pain. Clinical examination found a foreign body occupying part of her stomach and immediately doctors decided to do gastroscope which detected a 40 cm long mass of hair. In a 90-minute surgery, the team managed to remove the hair mass from her stomach and the patient was discharged in good health.
It is noteworthy that Yanbu General Hospital has conducted 2,815 successful major surgeries during the last year 2016.
