Riyadh to Host 87 Scholars to Review MERS-CoV Vaccine Researches

Under auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, the international conference on Corona Vaccine Researches will be held at the Conference Hall of King Abdulaziz City for Sciences and Technology (KACST) on November 14th-15th, 2015.

 

The Ministry of Health Spokesman, Mr. Faisal bin Saeed Al-Zahrani, said that the conference, to be attended by many experts and specialists from inside and outside the Kingdom, aims at reviewing many MERS-CoV-related scientific and research papers, as well as deals submitted by concerned research companies. The conference also aims at forming an international scientific consortium, comprising the Saudi Ministry of Health (MOH), the United States and the World Health Organization (WHO) to produce immunotherapy and anti-Coronavirus vaccine, as well as supporting the production researches on Coronavirus vaccine to curb the virus spread. The consortium will include experts from the WHO, American National Institutes of Health (NIH), and International Vaccine Institute (IVI).

 

Al-Zahrani pointed out that 87 scholars and experts on vaccine production will participate in the conference, from different countries, including the US, Canada, Korea, China, Netherlands, Australia and Germany, in addition to Saudi scientists. He added that a number of companies specialized in the field of vaccination will present to their research findings at the conference, noting that the conference came as a part of MOH's concern and tireless efforts to combat the Coronavirus.
