29 June 2015
Thanks to Allah, My Referral (Ehalati) Program at the Ministry of Health (MOH) managed to save the lives of 99 patients, and referred 3.443 others over the past week, from June 21st to 27th, 2015 (corresponding to Ramadan 4th to 10th, 1436H).

This was declared by the Supervisor of Ehalati Program, Mr. Suleiman bin Ahmad Al-Sharie, who revealed that out of the referred cases, 2,023 patients (amounting to 58.8%) were approved, 1,114 cases are still being considered, at a rate of 32.4%, 214 cases were treated in the same hospital, at a rate of 6.2%, and 92 cases were placed on the waiting list, at a rate of 2.7%. Such cases will be handled in the coming period depending on the health condition of each case.

Mr. Al-Sharie noted that life-saving cases amounted to 99, at a rate of 2.88% of all referred cases, whereas the emergency cases amounted to 820, at a rate of 23.82%, the hospitalized cases amounted to 855, at a rate of 24.83%, and the cases referred to the outpatient clinics amounted to 1.669 cases, at a rate of 48.48%.

It's worth mentioning here that ‘Ehalati’ Program is reckoned one of the new e-programs carried out by the Ministry of Health. Advantages of the program include providing medical counseling among physicians in the various medical facilities to consider the health condition of patients without the need for transferring them. It also provides all the logistic and coordination requirements to refer the patient from one medical facility to another. In addition, it provides an accurate archiving and statistical system, which contains information of the Ehalati-referred patients across the Kingdom’s health facilities.
