Minister of Health Patronizes International E-Health Conference

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Health Mr. Ahmad bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb, the Ministry of Health's (MOH) Information and Communication Technology, in collaboration with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), will organize the third edition of the International E-Health Conference and Exhibition on Jumada al-Thany 11th-12th, 1436H corresponding to March 31st – April 1st, 2015, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Riyadh.
 
The Advisor to the Minister of Health and Supervisor-General of the Information and Communication Technology Dr. Abdullah Al-Wehaibi explained that the conference will bring up a clear vision about the MOH's e-health strategies and how to maintain its leading role at the international level in providing the best health care services in the time being and in the future through automation of health services.
 
He pointed out that the conference will shed light on the latest health information technologies at the international level and the vital role of the e-health service and its contribution to providing the highest possible quality of health services for all beneficiaries in different parts of the world. The conference will also highlight the progress achieved by the Saudi Ministry of Health and the strategies it follows for developing the application of e-health service techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of the health system for all citizens and residents of the Kingdom, through a number of specialists in the field of e-health at the regional and international levels and with participation of a number of senior officials of the MOH.
 
Dr. Al-Wehaibi said that the conference will be accompanied by a number of workshops with the aim of displaying a number of experiences and information and administrative systems which are applied in the various health sectors. Such workshops will be delivered by a group of specialists from inside and outside the Kingdom. Also the conference will be accompanied by an exhibition including a number of prominent companies and other entities specialized in the field of health information technology.
 
It is noteworthy that the MOH has organized the first edition of the conference in 2013 in Riyadh, with the attendance of about 1,700 visitors who are interested in the field of e-health care, and because the organizers of the conference are keen to benefit more workers and people interested in this field from different part of the Kingdom and after the great success achieved in the first edition in Riyadh, the second edition was held in Jeddah in 2014 with the attendance of more than 1,900 participants and visitors.
