Dr. Al-Abdali Named Director General of Health Facilities Infection Control

As part of the developmental steps carried out by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to improve its services and hiring the specialized qualified cadres to advance the performance of its health facilities, His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Muhammad bin Ali Alhayaza, has issued a resolution appointing Dr. Hayel bin Matar Al-Abdali to undertake the tasks and responsibilities as the Director General of Health Facilities Infection Control, and Head of Infection Prevention and Control at Command and Control Center (CCC). The resolution takes effect from January 24th, 2015 (corresponding to Rabie Al-Akher 6th, 1436H). Dr. Al-Abdali used to work at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RS) in Riyadh.
 
For his part, Dr. Al-Abdali has extended his thanks and gratitude to His Excellency the Minister of Health for the valuable trust bestowed upon him, meanwhile praying for Almighty Allah to make him up to the good expectations of everyone, and help him contribute, with his expertise, to supporting and developing the health services, in such a manner that achieves everyone's satisfaction.
 
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Al-Abdali is a consultant of communicable diseases, holding a Bachelor's Degree in medicine and surgery (MBBS) from King Saud University, and fellowship in communicable diseases from University of Texas  Health Sciences Center (UTHSC), USA. In addition to his broad expertise he acquired from working in the communicable diseases domain, he served, in some senior positions, as the Vice Chairman of Medicine Section at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RS) in Riyadh, and the Medical Director of Infection Control and Environmental Health at the same hospital.
 
Moreover, he received the fellowship award in mycology from the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), and he is an associate member of many local and international committees and societies.
