Dr. Nourwaly Assigned Director General of Makkah Health Affairs General Directorate

Within the framework of the Ministry of Health (MOH)'s policy and approach to rotate the senior positions and provide the health facilities with the medical and administrative cadres and outstanding experts, His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, has issued a resolution mandating Dr. Abdul-Salam bin Abdul-Rahman Nourwaly to undertake the tasks and responsibilities as the Director General of Makkah Health Affairs General Directorate, for a year starting from 23rd January, 2014 (corresponding to 22nd Rabie' Al-Awwal, 1435 H).
 
Thus, Dr. Nourwaly stepped into the shoes of Dr. Khalid bin Obaid Dhafar who has been mandated to assume the responsibilities as the Minister’s Advisor, for a year starting from 22nd January, 2014 (corresponding to 21st Rabie' Al-Awwal, 1435H).
 
It didn’t escape the Minister of Health’s notice to extend his thanks and appreciation to Dr. Khalid Dhafar; for his strenuous efforts and services during the period of his previous tenure that still contribute to providing health care for citizens and residents and stand beyond a lot of achievements in the health sector, May Allah be praised.
 
Within the same vein, Dr. Al-Rabeeah has directed Dr. Nourwaly to exert his utmost efforts to serve patients and attain their satisfaction. He also urged him to work hard to promote the performance level in the MOH facilities, in line with the criteria of the Integrated and Comprehensive Health Care Project; which stresses the principles of justice, equity, accessibility and inclusiveness in distributing health services. Meanwhile, Dr. Al-Rabeeah wished Dr. Asiri all good luck and success.
 
Furthermore, Dr. Al-Rabeeah has called upon all MOH employees and those working in the health sector to help and cooperate with Dr. Nourwaly in assuming his tasks; in such a manner serving the public interest, as well as pushing the health work march towards further success and progress.
 
For his part, Dr. Nourwaly extended his thanks and gratitude to His Excellency the Minister of Health for this valuable trust bestowed upon him, meanwhile, praying for Almighty Allah to make him up to the good expectations of everyone, and help him contribute, with his expertise, to supporting the health services and serving the patients, in order to gain everyone's satisfaction.
 
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Abdul-Salam Nourwaly works as an Associate Professor at the College of Medicine in Umm Al-Qura University, as he holds the Canadian and US Fellowships in the specialty of internal medicine as well as the Canadian Fellowship in the specialty of rheumatic diseases. Besides, he has trained at British Columbia and West Toronto in Canada. He further worked as the Manager of the Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Center over the period of 2000 to 2006, then, as the Head of the Inner Medicine Sections at Umm Al-Qura University for five years.
 
Afterwards, he worked as the Manager of Al-Noor Specialist Hospital in Safar 1433H. Over and above, he had received numerous administrative courses in the leadership and management at Harvard University, and currently he is a member in the Scientific Board of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS).
