MOH: Performance Efficiency Boosted by Surgical Operations e-Waiting List
18 September 2017
In an unprecedented move that confirms its commitment to transparency, Ministry of Health (MOH) has launched a daily specialization-based e-Waiting List for surgical operations on its online portal. The list features the medical cities and MOH's hospitals, along with surgical specializations and corresponding waiting days respectively.

The list also includes five levels of waiting days, from one to 180 days.

By launching this initiative, MOH aims to update all patients and beneficiaries of services provided by its health facilities on the developmental efforts to boost performance levels and to provide high quality service to satisfy and meet the health needs of citizens, who are the focus of its attention and main partner in advancing the health work process.

The MOH called upon all citizens to cooperate by calling (937) for any feedback or in case of disparity between the announced list of surgical appointments and actual practice.

It is worth mentioning that MOH is currently implementing health performance program, which seeks to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals, in line with strategic objectives of the National Transformation Plan 2020 and Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Currently, the program includes 70 main hospitals, where over 40 key performance indicators are applied to seven service units, with positive outcomes of reducing waiting times at emergencies and outpatient clinics.
